The most anticipated game of the decade, Grand Theft Auto 6 looks certain to launch at some point in 2024. Indeed, according to recent reports, the game could be unveiled as early as next month, before releasing in full next October. Until we get an official reveal from Rockstar Games, however, fans have had to make do with rumours, leaks and speculation. This includes a recent and somewhat worrying rumour about the GTA 6 price point.
The latest reports suggest Grand Theft Auto 6 could cost a staggering $150 (£120) when it eventually makes its debut on consoles and PC.
The rumours started when it was revealed that GTA 6 is being developed on a budget of $1-2 billion.
It’s also been suggested that Rockstar could charge a separate fee for the Grand Theft Auto 6 campaign and GTA 6 Online.
While the rumours have been met with concern by some members of the GTA community, many are quick to point out that Take-Two previously said that $70 is a fair price point for a triple-A release.
It therefore seems unlikely that GTA 6 would launch at such a high price point.
Of course, if Rockstar Games does end up charging $150 for Grand Theft Auto 6, then you might want to start saving now for the open-world action game.
Grand Theft Auto: Designer applies next-gen graphics to game
Fans already know a little bit about the next Grand Theft Auto, following a huge leak last year.
Judging by the leaks, it looks like the new Grand Theft Auto will take place in Vice City, and will feature male and female playable characters.
In one scene the characters were shown robbing a diner, which backs up earlier reports of a Bonnie and Clyde-style dynamic.
Another leak suggests Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature multiple drag racing strips, as well as at least one farm.
