We all love a bit of mobile phone gaming nowadays but how can you take it to the next level?
Well GameSir reckon they’ve got the answer.
Their new X2 mobile controller effectively turns your iPhone into a Nintendo Switch-style machine.
It’s plug and play, so you slot your mobile into the lightning port on the controller and then there’s a flexible spring-action stretch slider to allow various versions of Apple’s device to sit neatly in the middle up to 173mm.
That becomes the screen and then the X2’s various buttons and Switch like layout become your controllers.
It works very well on both app store games like Call of Duty Mobile and Among Us as well as gaming services like the ever-improving Xbox Game Pass.

The lightweight device is fully compatible with iPhones on iOS 13 and above.
It also works well with Apple Arcade and is designed to provide a full console array of controls thanks to well placed L1/L2 and R1/R2 triggers, left and right joysticks and ABXY action buttons.
The buttons come with a lifespan of up to three million presses so gamers do not need to worry about wearing them out.
Thanks to the direct connection, lag is minimised to deliver the ultimate gaming experience.
Call of Duty for example was very easy to control and it never felt like you’d pressed a button and was waiting for a reaction on-screen seconds later.

Soft rubber grips on the back of the device ensure a comfortable hold throughout any gaming session and means you’re less likely to drop your precious mobile while in an intense online battle.
For gamers requiring the option to play anytime whilst charging their devices, the X2 includes pass-through charging, allowing you to play while also charging up your battery.
In the package you’ll get some spare silicone thumb pads in different sizes for your joysticks and a neat protective black and red case that gives off yet more Switch vibes.

Overall, this is one slick looking controller that’ll make your iPhone stand out from the crowd when gaming on the go.
It responds well to titles thanks to the relatively lag-free connection.
But we did struggle sometimes to get it to connect to the odd game when the phone itself seemed to keep expecting you to use touch controls.
That said, a bit of perseverance and the X2 should level up your mobile gaming experience.
