The 10.1.0 patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has arrived and it has brought even more Final Fantasy content to the game, as well as a number of changes to multi-hit attacks used by different characters.
Sephiroth might have been the most unexpected fighter added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so far, as no one was expecting another Final Fantasy rep. Square Enix had already allowed a Dragon Quest character to appear in the game, and fans were expecting someone like Geno or Sora to be the next fighter. Sephiroth is still a welcome addition to the game, even if he could use some tweaking in the balance department.

The Final Fantasy 7 Content & Stage Music Options
The 10.1.0 patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate adds a lot more content relating to Final Fantasy 7. Sephiroth is available to everyone, even if you couldn’t beat him during the Sephiroth Challenge. Sephiroth also comes with the Northern Crater stage and nine additional Final Fantasy songs. A DLC Spirit Board for Sephiroth can now be played, with Spirits based on characters from Final Fantasy 7.
Five new Mii Fighter outfits have been added to the game. Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Barret from Final Fantasy 7 are Mii Gunners, a Chocobo outfit and Tifa from Final Fantasy 7 are Mii Brawlers, and Aerith from Final Fantasy 7 is a Mii Swordfighter.
Cloud has also received a change, as his Advent Children outfits have a new Final Smash. This version of Cloud will now use Omnislash Ver. 5 as his Final Smash. It’s almost identical in terms of mechanics, but it looks different.
You can now create your own playlist with My Music and select them as the playlist for the Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Big Battlefield, and Final Destination stages.
Fox – Buffed
Fox’s forward air and down air now have bigger hitboxes. The first and fourth attacks of the forward air have more range, while down air has increased range overall.
Luigi – Buffed
Luigi’s dash attack where he pummels the opponent a number of times in succession now has bigger hitboxes for all of the punches.
Zelda – Buffed
Zelda’s side smash has bigger hitboxes for each of its attacks, and the final attack in the chain has more range.
Pichu – Buffed
The final attack in Pichu’s side smash chain has a longer reach than before.
Toon Link & Young Link – Buffed
These characters received a similar buff, so we’ll put them together. Toon Link and Young Link’s Spin Attack has a bigger hitbox when used in the air, allowing them to hit foes more easily.
Olimar – Buffed
If Olimar throws a Pikmin using his side smash/special and uses his Winged Pikmin move, then an air attack with the Pikmin will occur if any are near the enemy.
Rosalina & Luma – Buffed
Rosalina’s forward air has bigger hitboxes, the last attack in the chain has a longer range, and the attack range above her skirt has been lowered, to make it easier to connect with follow-up attacks.
Mii Gunner – Buffed
The range of Mii Gunner’s up throw has been adjusted and the follow-up shots after the throw have a longer range.
Duck Hunt Duo – Buffed
Duck Hunt Duo’s side smash has bigger hitboxes and the time in which opponents can adjust their movement between the first two shots has been decreased, making it harder for them to slip out of the move.
