Meet Kollector, an all-new kharacter koming to Mortal Kombat 11. How many arms does he really have? I kount six.
Look klosely! A tiny T-rex set are on Kollector’s back, holding up his satchel. From this bag o’ goodies, Kollector goes all American Pickers with both his fatal blow and fatality. In the former, Kollector beats Baraka senseless with a flea market’s worth of bric-a-brac. I half expected to see the snow globe from Sons of Anarchy in there. The latter is sort of the same thing in reverse, as Kollector disassembles Baraka and decides what parts to keep in his bloody black back pack.
Per a news release from NetherRealm Studios, here’s Kollector’s kurriculum vitae:
A new fighter joining the Mortal Kombat franchise, The Kollector was born into poverty and seized his collections duty with a zeal that impressed Shao Kahn, becoming one of the Emperor’s most feared associates. As more of a corrupt, mafia enforcer than a government official, The Kollector stole riches from Outworld’s people, rewarding himself with wealth and status in turn, but when Shao Kahn died, Kotal Kahn vowed to weed out the former regime’s corruption. After years in hiding, living off his ill-gotten gains, The Kollector was captured and now faces execution, determined to destroy anyone in his path.
Kollector is the 22nd playable fighter konfirmed for Mortal Kombat 11, which releases April 23, 2019 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Two other all-new kombatants have been announced: Cetrion and Geras. Shang Tsung will also be in the game, played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who portrayed the sinister wizard in the unforgettable 1995 movie.
