Xbox Series X retail box packaging is easy to pick holes with

A Canadian store has given the first look at the Xbox Series X retail packaging and the bottom of the console – and they both feature lots of holes.

Although we now know exactly when the Xbox Series X is out and how much it will cost it’s not actually listed on many online stores, probably because pre-orders aren’t due to start until 22 September.

Some sites have it anyway but Canadian store The Source seems to be the only one that has a picture of what the box itself looks like.

They’ve also got a number of other official images of the console, including one of the bottom – which we don’t think has ever been shown before.

The box image focuses on the very top of the Xbox Series X, with a variation of an image Microsoft has already been using a lot. One which, now we come to think of it, must be terrible for people with trypophobia.

What the box looks like isn’t really important but it’s another welcome sign that the new console is really on its way and will be released in just a couple of months, on 10 November.

There’s no sign of the Xbox Series S on the site, though, which may imply that despite news of it constantly leaking out retailers were only officially told about it recently.

Although it’s cheaper than many feared, the £450 for the Xbox Series X is still a big chunk of cash for most people and so rather than buying it from a shop Microsoft are heavily promoting the Xbox All Access programme, where you can buy an Xbox Series X in 24 monthly instalments of £28.99 – or £20.99 a month for the Xbox Series S.

Presumably it’ll still come in the same box though.
