The Biggest Gaming News For October 9, 2022

Here we are once again enjoying a sleepy Sunday. I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely been catching up on some sleep, so I’m behind on the latest gaming news by approximately 23 hours. That’s right. I just got up half an hour ago. In any case, let’s get back up to speed. We heard that a FIFA Hero Pack mistake threw the Ultimate Team transfer market into chaos, the inspiration for GMod is finally going to be released after nearly two decades, and a quality assurance company contracted to work on Cyberpunk 2077 somehow managed to get away with some pretty big lies. Cyberpunk 2077 QA Contractor Reportedly Lied About Its Size And Employee Experience

Cyberpunk 2077 was released to reams of derision on account of its horrible bugs and glitches. Well, there may have been more to the story given that a contractor, Quantic Lab, seems to have lied about the size of the company and the experience level of its employees. "From a team of 30 people, I think only 10 of them had experience on QA," a source at the company explained. “None of the 'experienced' testers had more than a year."

FIFA 23 Hero Pack Mistake Sends Ultimate Team Transfer Market Into Frenzy

EA bungled the price of Ultimate Team packs, causing huge fluctuations in the Ultimate Team transfer market in FIFA 23, players losing millions of in-game currency in the process, quite literally overnight. The company seems to have mistakenly released a FIFA 23 Hero Pack containing a tradeable Ultimate Team Hero item that can be worth millions of coins. The pack was however priced incorrectly at a mere 25,000 coins. EA quickly caught the mistake, but not before the entire economy was thrown into chaos. Whoops.

The inspiration for GMod, JBMod, could be coming out at some point in the very near future, albeit 16 years late. The game just got a Steam page promising a full release “soon.” This came as a surprise to everyone, but the person behind GMod, Garry Newman, was among the first to comment. “I was actually terrified of JBMod when I was making GMod,” Newman said on Twitter. “They always claimed to be just about to make a huge release that would render us redundant. This is one of the reasons I worked so hard for so long to push it forward so it couldn't get caught.”
