Real life Battle Royale: Millionaire will pay YOU £45,000 to turn private island into PUBG

A luxury product marketplace dubbed the ‘Amazon for millionaires’ is helping to recruit a gaming fanatic to create a battle royale-inspired arena event, after a customer enquired about buying an island for a championship through the site.

The prospective buyer’s ambition is to create a ‘last person standing’ championship with a £100,000 jackpot, to run towards the end of the year. The successful ‘gamemaker’ will earn around £45,000 over a six-week period should they fill the position.

An exclusive online marketplace, with products for sale that include private jets, designer watches and private islands, is helping an anonymous millionaire with their bid to create a battle royale-inspired arena event on a private island. Once designs have been mocked up and the island purchase has been finalised, up to one hundred members of the public will be invited to register their interest to compete.

HushHush.com is assisting the millionaire organiser to find a ‘gamemaker’ for the event, after the enquirer asked about purchasing a private island for the championship in February. The site will also be handling registrations for the exclusive event.

The intention is that contestants will be equipped with Airsoft guns, ammo and touch-sensitive body armour for the three-day event, set to take place in winter this year.

So, if you’re really into your Fortnite, Apex Legends or PUBG… this could be the event you need to take your hobby to the next level.

Would-be gamemakers will need to apply with their experience and credentials. The deadline for registrations is the 22nd April, successful applicants will be notified by the 10th May. The role will involve travelling to the island to assess the landscape and will pay up to £45,000 for the six-week project.

Gamemakers should have experience in large-scale event and set design, and are encouraged to submit their CV here.

As currently planned, the event is expected to last a total of three days, with applicants competing for 12 hours each day and then camping for the night. Food, camping gear and equipment will be provided for them at the beginning of the event and will be used for the duration.

The organisers will take steps to ensure that everyone will be completely safe in the arena. Early planning documents reference that external paramedics, doctors and health and safety experts will be on hand over the three days in case they are needed.

This is – from the looks of things – the closest you’re ever going to get to a real-life Battle Royale (though we’d be interested to learn how the organisers plan to recreate a moving ring that pushes combatants closer together the longer the match continues).

Offering one of the most exclusive marketplaces for high net worth individuals and VIP concierge services, HushHush.com connects a growing list of the world’s most wealthy consumers with luxury brands and products.

HushHush.com collates some of the best unique luxury products available, from superyachts and hypercars to luxury villas and private islands, and partners with sellers to reach their audience.

Aaron Harpin, HushHush.com founder, said,

“Battle royale games have become incredibly popular over the last few years and our customer is a huge fan themself, who wants to make the game a reality in the safest way possible. If the championship is a success this year, it’s something he wants to make an annual event moving forward, which is very exciting.

“If you’re a fan of last-person-standing movies and games, it’ll be a great opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience and earn a significant amount of money. However, to get there, our concierge team needs some help to make it a reality. The first thing we need is a talented gamemaker to help us make the event as realistic as possible.”
