PUBG LITE Server maintenance, update notes and PUBG Mobile news

PUBG LITE is slowly expanding its beta, making it more accessible around the globe for Battle Royale fans.

The scaled down version of PUBG has proven popular with fans who are unable to run the original version on Steam.

PUBG LITE offers gamers with less hardware firepower the chance to join the BR craze, while also providing it in a free-to-play model.

It’s an official PC spin-off of the original PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and is available to play alongside the PUBG Mobile PC emulator.

And it’s been confirmed today that PUBG Corp is planning new server downtime this week.

In a new announcement, it was revealed by the PUBG LITE development team that servers would have to go offline for maintenance tomorrow, June 20.

This is to make way for a new update that will look to improve the overall PUBG LITE experience.

The good news is that this means more bugfixes and extra content for fans to enjoy on PC.

The bad news is that the game will be unavailable to play for several hours on June 20.

According to a developer post, server maintenance will be held for 4 hours, meaning a small level of disruption.

“On June 20, 2019, the PUBG LITE servers will be under maintenance for an update,” the PUBG LITE support team message reads.

“Server maintenance will be held for 4 hours from 5:00AM~9:00AM (UTC).

“There will be various bug fixes and content updates during this maintenance.

“Please be patient with us as we continue to work to enhance your PUBG LITE gameplay experience.”

Patch notes are expected to be shared after the official maintenance is completed and a new PUBG LITE update has been released.

The development team has not shared any information on what is being planned for this patch, meaning fans will have to wait and see what new content will be confirmed.

The other version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – supported by Tencent and called PUBG Mobile – has also seen some big news released this week.

Following the release of the new Deathmatch Mode on Android and iOS, Tencent revealed just how many gamers now play PUBG Mobile.

The number has grown steadily since it first hit devices last year and it appears the mobile version has not been affected by the original PUBG, or PUBG LITE.

“Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation announced a new milestone that PUBG MOBILE has surpassed another impressive milestone as more than 400 million downloads and 50 million daily active users outside of China,” the official announcement reads.

“PUBG MOBILE continues its streak as one of the world’s most popular mobile games, following its domination of 2018 end-of-year award shows including “Mobile Game of the Year” at the Golden Joysticks among multiple other nominations.

“PUBG MOBILE also made headlines earlier this year with its new Gameplay Management System, making it a forerunner in the movement to make gaming healthier.”
