PS Plus March 2020: PS4 free games update ahead of PlayStation release

Sony has boosted its new PS Plus March 2020 lineup with some new free downloads on PS4 and PS4 Pro. We already know about the latest free games that will be available to claim in the coming days. As confirmed by Sony earlier this week, PS Plus subscribers will be able to download Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces on March 3, 2020.

That gives subscribers just a few more days to claim the current February titles, which will remain available up until the PlayStation refresh.

These include Bioshock: The Collection, The Sims 4, and PS VR shooter Firewall Zero Hour.

And unfortunately for Virtual Reality fans, no new PSVR game was announced for inclusion in March.

There were hopes that Sony might start offering PSVR games as a third free download as we head into the year the PS5 is launched.

The next-gen gaming machine will be compatible with the PlayStation VR and it would make for a great replacement for those lost PS Vita and PS3 games.

But for now, it doesn’t appear we’ll be getting a free Virtual Reality add-on with PS Plus. However, Sony has confirmed that there will be a new test going on later in 2020 for an upcoming game.

PS Plus owners will be able to try out the upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer experience Predator Hunting Grounds this month.

  • PlayStation fans could have got a big hint a PS5 reveal is coming soon

This isn’t happening until Friday, 27th March, but it’s another PS Plus bonus to look forward to.

“Squad-up with friends as part of a Fireteam and take on dangerous missions before the Predator finds you – or become the Predator and hunt your prey,” the official game description explains.

“Wield human and alien weaponry in this intense asymmetrical multiplayer experience – unlocking iconic gear and skins as you level up.

“You can even team up with friends on PC with full cross-play support through the Predator: Hunting Grounds trial.”

Trial Weekend starts from 5pm PST / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET / 3pm JST on Friday 27th March and ends 11.59pm PST / GMT / CET / JST on Sunday 29th March.

As mentioned above, a PS Plus subscription will be required to play on PS4 later this month. And there are other bonuses available to download right now, ahead of the big March PS Plus update.

Each month, Sony picks a number of free games to be downloaded for free for around four weeks.

But they also put together bonus packs for games that are already free to play on PS4.

This usually remains available for a number of months and includes cosmetic items that can be used in-game.

These are launched as a way to make up for the fact that they don’t require a PS Plus subscription to play online.

One of the most recent packs made available by Sony is for World of Warships Legends.

The World of Warships: Legends – Jump-Start pack can be found on the PlayStation Store and includes a number of items.

This bundle includes one day of Premium Account, 10x Type one camouflages, 30x Ship XP common boosters, 30x credits common boosters, 30x Commander XP common boosters, 30x Global XP common boosters, 30x Battle common boosters, and 37,000 Commander XP.

World of Warships is a free to play title that requires around 30GB of space on your PS4 and does not require a PlayStation Plus membership.
