Overwatch Halloween event release time confirmed for 2019

Overwatch fans have had to wait longer than usual to play the seasonal Halloween Terror event in 2019.

Last year saw the event release a week earlier but it looks like we aren’t far off a full launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

This will be the first year that fans on Switch will be able to play the game and join in on the Halloween festivities.

This is also the first year that Blizzard has stayed quiet on when exactly the Overwatch Halloween release date is going to fall.

But luckily for us, plenty of clues have been found by fans, pointing the way.

From the hints shared by the Blizzard team through recent posts and interviews, it looks like Halloween 2019 is arriving this week.

Blizzard are launching Halloween Terror 2019 on the same day as Overwatch releases on Nintendo Switch.

And that means everything should be going live Tuesday, October 15. There’s also a good chance of some server issues on the Switch, as this will be the first time everyone gets online.

The other thing we know is the timing for when Halloween Terror will be going live on all platforms.

With Blizzard deciding to keep all platforms inline, it looks the returning event will be available to play as soon as the launches on Switch.

And that has been scheduled for 11am, PST, or 7pm if you live in the UK.

So Overwatch fans waiting to find out an exact release schedule, this is probably your best bet.

There is a chance that Blizzard will confirm their launch plans for Halloween Terror in the next 24-hours too.

So far, we have received no special Overwatch skin reveals, meaning there’s going to be plenty of surprises on launch day.

There is also speculation over what new maps will be included in the Halloween Terror make-over.

Recent reports suggest that JunkerTown will be one of the maps transformed but this remains an unverified rumour.

And the return of these seasonal modes is also expected:

Team up with three other players and face off against a host of horrific enemies, including Junkenstein and his Monster; the mysterious Summoner; the Reaper; and the Witch of the Wilds. Now play as Brigitte and Tracer—this dynamic duo is ready and willing to face these fearsome foes!

Prepare for a real challenge in Junkenstein’s Revenge: Endless Night. How long can you survive as wave after wave of enemies and bosses assault the castle doors? Those who survive the longest will earn a coveted spot on the leaderboard.

As always, Halloween Terror in Overwatch will be a free update available to everyone on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

However, while Loot Boxes can be unlocked through playing the game during the event, they can also be bought using real cash.

Terror loot boxes contain Halloween themed cosmetics and are only available during the three-week event.
