Nintendo Switch Lite Receiving A New Coral Color Option (But It’s Really Pink)

There is a new color coming to the Nintendo Switch Lite range, as Nintendo has revealed that a coral pink version of the system will be released in April.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is a portable-only version of the system that is missing several key features of the base version of the Switch, but it comes with a cheaper price tag, as the Switch Lite generally costs around one hundred dollars less than the original version of the console.

The current line-up of Nintendo Switch Lite consists of three colors – blue, grey, and yellow. The official Nintendo of America Twitter page has announced that a fourth color is coming soon, with a coral pink Lite set to be released on April 3, 2020.

The Nintendo Switch Lite was believed by many to be made with games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokémon Sword & Shield in mind. Pokémon Sword & Shield have seen incredible success on the Nintendo Switch, but it seems that most people prefer to play the games on the big screen, which has been the dream of many Pokémon fans since the days of Pokémon Red & Blue. Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t be released for a few more weeks, so we don’t know if it will have an effect on Switch Lite sales.

The sales of the Nintendo Switch Lite haven’t been as impressive as many pundits predicted. It seems that people would rather pay extra for the ability to use the Switch on a TV than saving money to losing features. The Switch Lite is the perfect system for people who travel a lot, but it seems that more people still care about the base Switch than its portable counterpart. If the rumors of Switch production being slowed by the coronavirus are true, then fans might have to go with a Switch Lite if they have been waiting all of this time for a new Animal Crossing game to be released.

The coral pink Nintendo Switch Lite will be released on April 3, 2020, and it will cost $199.99.
