While Xbox Game Pass is about to be updated with some stellar new titles, it’s also losing a few. The good news for AAA fans is that Rainbow Six Extraction and Hitman 3, as part of the trilogy bundle, will be arriving today, complete with Xbox Series X optimisations.
These two titles will be part of a growing list of Xbox Game Pass games fans can enjoy in January, but fans won’t have it all their own way.
Microsoft has also confirmed that they will be dropping a collection of smaller indie favourites from the Pass that have been available for some time.
And for everyone disappointed, they can always buy the full game now and use their 20% Game Pass discount.
If not, the following games will be leaving the Game Pass on January 31, 2022:
- Cyber Shadow (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Nowhere Prophet (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Prison Architect (PC)
- Xeno Crisis (Cloud, Console, and PC)
As noted above, all four games are available via Cloud, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC, meaning all subscribers will be losing them at the end of the month.
Cyber Shadow has been available for nearly a year on Xbox Game Pass and has the following game description:
In Cyber Shadow, you will rise from the depths of a desolate world where mysterious synthetic life forms have taken over. As Shadow, you must unlock the secrets of his clan’s ancient powers and defeat nefarious enemies before it’s too late. Dash, slice, and leap through masterfully designed levels filled with vigorous close-quarters combat and defeat over a dozen challenging bosses to rescue your clan and unlock Ninjutsu skills and abilities.
Nowhere Prophet joined Game Pass in 2020 as a day one launch, offering deck-building experience:
Nowhere Prophet sees you crossing a post-apocalyptic wasteland on the far-off planet Soma, where bandits and madmen constantly fight for the last few scraps. At the end of this world lies the mysterious Crypt, which promises safety and prosperity for you and your band of followers – each of which is a companion you carry with you as a card, able to be wounded or killed along the way. Can you keep your followers safe along this treacherous trail?

Prison Architect is one of the most well-known games on the list, providing a unique sim-builder experience described as:
“Will you build and manage a prison to create social order where it’s failed in their past, meeting all of their needs offering rehabilitation and peaceful coexistence? Or will you disregard human rights, impose intentional harshness and remove any notions of wellbeing and freedom? The choice is always yours, and in Prison Architect you’ll get to explore and deal with the consequences of your decisions.”
Xeno Crisis boasts the smallest install size and some of the most retro gameplay and graphics, “Xeno Crisis is an arena shooter in which up to two players take control of battle-hardened marines embarking on a deadly mission to confront an alien menace! Run and gun your way through thousands of adversaries, searching for survivors, and ultimately facing the origin of the outpost’s demise.”
