Call Of Duty: Warzone could see major change in just a couple of months, with talk of Fireteam maps being used to replace Verdansk.
Free-to-play game Call Of Duty: Warzone could have a new map as early as this March, based on Black Ops Cold War’s Fireteam maps, if new rumours are correct.
That a new map is coming at some point isn’t in question but ModernWarzone are suggesting that it will be created by combining existing Fireteam maps, just as Verdansk is a patchwork of Ground War maps from Modern Warfare.
Supposedly the new map will be an 8×8 grid, which is technically a little smaller than Verdansk. Only around 6.5×7 of Verdansk is actually playable though so it may be that the new map still ends up having more space.
According to ModernWarzone this will include a large lake, which matches with rumours that swimming and water vehicles (which were already a part of Black Ops 4’s Blackout map) will also be added.
Other points of interest include a zoo, which is believed to be based on the original Black Ops map of the same name.
There’s also supposedly an area called Ski Slopes, based on Fireteam map Alpine, and a weather station that’s though to be a version of the map Summit.
ModernWarzone have a good track record with these sort of rumours and in fact predicted that Cold War’s Zombie mode would be free-to-play for a week, which it is now until Friday, January 14.
