Legalpad Guarantees Easy Work Visas and Gets $10 Million

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–January 8, 2020–

As part of Legalpad’s commitment to make work visas easy, Legalpad has leveraged their previous success to raise a $10 million Series A round led by Amplo.

Founded by a lawyer and an immigrant, Legalpad offers guaranteed work visas and is committed to making the process as easy as posting on a job board.

Legalpad has demonstrated remarkable success for hundreds of employers, immigrants, and their lawyers since the company was founded in 2018.

The market need for a faster and transparent way to secure work visas is strong: Every year, millions of talented people pursue work opportunities in the United States but face an ambiguous and complex work visa process.

Despite those challenges, half of all unicorns have been built by immigrants in Silicon Valley, where about 71 percent of tech employees are non-US born.

“Legalpad is undertaking an ambitious goal to redefine the complex and confusing work visa system so that global talent can easily match with opportunity,” commented Sheel Tyle, Founder and CEO of Amplo. “Amplo is thrilled to help launch Legalpad into its next phase of growth.”

Amplo led the $10 million round alongside Global Founders Capital, 8VC, Liquid 2 Ventures, Tekton Ventures, Gaingels, Collate Capital, and a notable lineup of high-profile angels.

Legalpad will use the funding to continue to connect global talent with opportunity around the world.

Amplo’s Board Partner, Alec Ross-formerly Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State and best-selling author of The Industries of the Future-will join Legalpad’s board of directors.
