One of the staples of the Kirby series is the roster of Copy Abilities that the pink puffball steals from enemies and uses for himself. This is no different in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, although the mechanic has seen a bit of an upgrade this time around thanks to Blueprint Upgrades.

Blueprint Upgrades are blueprints that can be found throughout some of the Forgotten Land's levels as rewards for going off the beaten path or defeating bosses. Collecting them will allow the blacksmith in Waddle Dee Town to upgrade Kirby's Copy Abilities to modify how they work and make them more powerful.

Most Copy Abilities have two Blueprint Upgrades, meaning that there are usually three variants on the one ability. You can then choose which to have appear in levels once you've unlocked it. The first upgrade usually costs 300 coins and two Rare Stones, while the second will take 500 coins and three Rare stones.

Ranger

Noble Ranger

The Noble Ranger upgrade can be found in Everbay Coast, The Tropical Terror. Defeat Tropic Woods to be rewarded this Blueprint Upgrade.

Space Ranger

To get the Space Ranger upgrade, you'll need to complete Redgar Forbidden Lands, Conquer The Inferno Road. It's found by shooting a target with Ranger right at the end of the level.

Hammer

Toy Hammer

The Toy Hammer Blueprint Upgrade can be found in Wondaria Remains, Welcome to Wondaria. In the final section of the level, you'll be able to use Mouthful Mode on a water pump to turn Kirby into a water balloon. Make eight wilted flowers bloom, as per the special objective's request, to be rewarded the Toy Hammer blueprint.

Wild Hammer

The Wild Hammer Blueprint can be found in Originull Wasteland, Alivel Mall. It's your reward for beating Bonkers in the level.

Masked Hammer

To unlock the Masked Hammer upgrade, talk to King Dedede in Waddle Dee Town after beating the game. You can find him next to the Coliseum.

Crash

Time Crash

To unlock Time Crash, head to Wondaria Remains, Invasion at the House of Horrors. In the third section of the level, just before getting to use the vending machine Mouthful Mode, you'll see a small circle you can float to. Go here for the Time Crash Blueprint Upgrade.

Fire

Volcano Fire

You'll be given the Volcano Fire upgrade as soon as the Waddle Dee blacksmith opens for the first time.

Dragon Fire

The Dragon Fire Blueprint Upgrade is ironically found in Winter Horns, Freezing Seas. At the halfway point of the level, you'll be able to unfreeze a scissor lift with the Fire ability and then use it to reach a treasure chest. The Blueprint Upgrade will be within.

Cutter

Chakram Cutter

You'll be given the Chakram upgrade as soon as the Waddle Dee blacksmith opens for the first time.

Buzz-Saw Cutter

The Buzz-Saw Cutter can be found in Originull Wasteland, Searching the Oasis. In the second part of the level, you'll see a chest just off to the front when you're near purple poison. Jump down for the Buzz-Saw Cutter.

Sword

Gigant Sword

The Gigant Sword can be found in Wondaria Remains, Circuit Speedway. You'll get this as a reward for beating the Wild Edge boss halfway through the level.

Meta Knight Sword

Once you've collected enough Waddle Dees to unlock the Coliseum, beat the Meta Knight cup to be rewarded with this Blueprint Upgrade, and one of the best in the whole game.

Morpho Knight Sword

To get this blueprint upgrade, you'll need to defeat Morpho Knight at the end of the Forgo Land section of the game. Essentially, you'll need to get the true ending to get the Morpho Knight Sword.

Bomb

Chain Bomb

Chain Bomb can be found in Everbay Coast, Fast-Flowing Waterworks. This is a reward for beating the mandatory combat arena you'll find halfway through the level.

Homing Bomb

Storm Tornado

Storm Tornado can be found in Redgar Forbidden Lands, Gathering of the Beast Council. Once you get to the amusement park section, you will take on Clawroline. Defeat her and then go to the right side of where the rollercoaster is to find this Blueprint Upgrade.

Drill

Pencil Drill

The Pencil Drill can be found in Wondaria Remains, Danger under the Big Top. It's a reward for beating Clawroline.

Twin Drill

The Clutter Needle Blueprint can be found in Everbay Coast, Scale the Cement Summit. At the start of the level, after climbing the first ladder, look to the right corner for a bomb box to destroy. This will reveal the Clutter Needle Blueprint

Crystal Needle
