According to an insider, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has a planned release date of November 18.
Last year, one of Ubisoft's big E3-season surprises was the reveal of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an open-world game set in the world of James Cameron's Avatar. Following the reveal, it was given a release window of 2022, something that Ubisoft has claimed is still happening, despite having not shown the game off since last year.
Despite worries that its lack of appearances anywhere means that it has been delayed, gaming insider Tom Henderson has revealed that his sources have told him that it has an internal planned release date of November 18. Henderson said this when discussing the potential release date of God of War Ragnarok, which was rumoured to be launching in November as well.
When talking about Ragnarok, Henderson said, "I don't know the release date, btw. To speculate though, Nov 11th would be my guess. The next Need for Speed installment is due to launch on November 4th and sources have suggested that the current plan for Ubisoft's Avatar title is due to launch on November 18th."
Because the discussion was solely focused on God of War Ragnarok's release date, Henderson didn't elaborate much more on the reveal of Avatar's planned release date, but considering his track record with Ubisoft and EA titles, it seems likely to be true.
It's also not unlike Ubisoft to show off a game in the same year that it's releasing, as it has been doing exactly that over the past few years with the mainline Assassin's Creed games.
If Frontiers of Pandora is still releasing this year, it seems likely that we'll see it at Gamescom or during a separate Ubisoft presentation. Ubisoft choose not to do a presentation during the Summer season but promised that it would have something for later in the year. If it sticks to that plan, it seems likely that we'll also see Avatar there.
