Gwent’s Free Way Of The Witcher Update Lands On December 8

CD Projekt Red has its hands full with Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn’t mean its popular card game has been forgotten. Far from it, in fact, as the Way of the Witcher expansion is a massive free update for Gwent that’s coming to iOS, Android, and PC on December 8.

Way of the Witcher will introduce 70 new cards to Gwent, all focused on the origins of witchers and their creator – the powerful sorcerer, Alzur. You’ll see faction-specific cards along with 10 neutral cards that can be used with any deck. New abilities and mechanics are also in the works, including Adrenaline, an ability that triggers when you have a set number of cards left to play. This should give “players fresh synergies to take advantage of on the battlefields of The Witcher Card Game.”

A few limited-edition pre-orders are also being offered to celebrate the upcoming release. These include “Card Kegs packed with premium cards from the expansion, openable upon its release. Also, available in pre-order packs are items including the Alzur premium card and Alzur’s Laboratory board, a special shapeshifting cardback, as well as “the Witcher” player title – all usable immediately upon purchase.”

Gwent is available for free on iOS, Android, Steam, and GOG. The Way of the Witcher expansion is expected to launch for free on December 8.
