For the past week, GTA Online players have had to endure a raft of unkillable taxi drivers. The new Taxi Work update, which allows you to drive a cab as a side hustle had the unfortunate side effect of turning some players invincible, and then those players would go around murdering people without consequence.
The glitch was relatively simple to execute, too. All you had to do was go to Downtown Cab Co., enter the white marker, accept the mission while simultaneously holding the vehicle enter/exit button, and then you’d spawn underground. After that, you were invincible.
I’m only describing the glitch because it’s been patched and no longer works. Rockstar reporter Tez2 confirmed the "Taxi God Mode" glitch had been patched in an update yesterday alongside several other game-breaking bugs such as the "Auto Shop Merge" glitch and the glitch that let players skip the preparation stage of the Doomsday Heist.
Unfortunately, it didn't take long for players to figure out a new glitch that resulted in yet more unkillable cab drivers. This glitch is still live as of the time of this writing, so I won't say exactly how it can be performed, but a response to Tez2's original tweet shows the glitch in action. Once again, the player is rendered invincible by executing this glitch.
Rockstar will surely patch this glitch out just as quickly as it did the previous Taxi God Mode glitch, but that still means it'll be a few days of invulnerable griefers running around. Be careful in Los Santos until the next update drops.
In other GTA news, Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive has settled its lawsuit with a group of modders that were reverse engineering GTA 3 and GTA: Vice City. The details of the settlement were not disclosed, but neither of the reverse engineering projects has reappeared on GitHub, so it seems like we won't get a player-led remake of those classic GTA games.
