We hope you're not ready to leave Los Santos yet, because it looks like Rockstar is still set on sending you back there in the years to come.
Even though players have been exploring the LA-inspired regions of Grand Theft Auto's American state for the last six years, Rockstar still has more to offer for GTA Online (which is part of GTA V, for those of you that don't know).
But it seems that, in the short term at least, Rockstar has no plans to move away from the current Grand Theft Auto game – after all, it's still raking in the cash .
This new update comes from Rockstar North's co-studio head, Rob Nelson, who told PCGamer in an interview that more GTA Online content will be arriving in the game in the coming months.
"Players should feel confident that we have a ton of brand new ideas still to come," Nelson told the site.
"It's been six years and we just hit record player numbers and we are all incredibly grateful to everyone who’s been with us along the way."
GTA 5 News, Guides and Leaks
Rockstar isn't going to want to slow down when the momentum for the game is so strong.
The company behind international mega-hits GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 released its Q2 financials for the earlier this month, and there was some very impressive reading in there for Take-Two.
It was reported that GTA V has hit a new landmark this quarter, with a massive 115 million copies sold.
That means, over the past six months, the game has sold 5,000,000 copies.
Of course Rockstar will keep pushing out content for the game as it remains so popular – having a captive playerbase means more overall profit, after all.
But that means the company is still focussing quite heavily on GTA 5 content, and will likely not want to undermine that with a GTA announcement any time soon.
Nelson hasn't revealed specifically what content we're going to see added to the game in the coming months, but it sounds like we could expect up to a year's worth of new DLC.
"We try to keep plans going roughly a year out, but we want to have the flexibility to be responsive to any changes."
So players itching to get their GTA fix should be kept placated until we – finally – hear about what's going on with GTA 6 .
Though the company hasn't yet announced the next game in the series, there are numerous breadcrumbs online suggesting that the project is well underway behind closed doors.
