Ubisoft’s big Ghost Recon news seems to have been leaked early, with Jon Bernthal starring as the bad guy in a new co-op open world game.
You can forget any hopes of a new Advanced Warfighter, because it looks like the new Ghost Recon game Ubisoft has promised to announce tomorrow is a straight sequel to Wildlands.
A flurry of leaks have emerged today, with the most obviously true being the above image of the game’s collector’s edition – which accidentally went up early on Ubisoft’s German website.
The fact that two other leaks both predicted the name, before the collector’s edition was seen, also makes the following information extremely likely to be true, with gamepressure.com claiming that Breakpoint is coming out on 4 October and has Jon ‘The Punisher’ Bernthal as the main bad guy.
The game will allegedly be set on the fictional Pacific island of Aurora and stars Bernthal as a rogue Ghost member who’s already been featured in an existing Ghost Recon: Wildlands update.
Breakout will supposedly be a four-player co-op game, just like Wildlands, but it’s not known whether it’ll also have PvP elements at launch.
A second leak on Reddit, which also happened before the image was discovered, seems to corroborate these details, including the same release date.
The box image certainly seems authentic, but we’ll find out for sure on Thursday, 9 May at 7pm when Ubisoft make their annoucement.
