Free Games: PS4 and Xbox One owners can download Battlefield 5 for nothing!

Battlefield 5 is over a year old, but it's still arguably one of the best shooters on PS4, Xbox One and PC. And it continues to get better and better.

And this weekend you can play it for free on all platforms as EA and DICE celebrate the release of the games huge new expansion, known as War In The Pacific.

Free trials have been running for the past few weeks, giving fans who dont own the game a taste of everything Battlefield has to offer.

But this weekend is arguably the best of the bunch.

"Sample all the multiplayer mayhem Battlefield V has to offer," reads an EA post.

"Chapter 5 of Battlefield V will launch this weekend, bringing the intense invasion battles of the Pacific theater as the U.S. and Japan armies enter the fray."

For those curious, yes this trial also includes the games main campaign, which EA refers to as 'War Stories'.

Here's a quick break down of whats included in the Year 2 Edition for those who want more info:

  • Battlefield 5 base game: WW2 as you’ve never seen it before. Deploy into all-out war multiplayer and experience gripping single-player War Stories.

In addition to all the base game weapons, vehicles, and outfits, you’ll also get these Tides of War rewards from year one:

  • 17 Primary Weapons: Powerful firearms you missed during Tides of War await, including the Boys AT Rifle, MAB 38, ZK-383, and many more.
  • 4 Vehicles: Pilot heavy machinery including the Archer tank destroyer and three other vehicles rewarded during the year.
  • 2 Epic Soldier Outfits: Fight with flair with the Double Down and Baron von Zorn uniforms.
  • 10 Weapon Skins: Adorn your arsenal with Epic skins like the Napalm and White Tiger.
  • 4 Vehicle Skins: Give vehicles like the Stug IV and Spitfire Mk VB paint jobs of the Epic kind.

The game has evolved quite a bit since first releasing in 2018 and the latest update is no exception.

The War In The Pacific expansion boasts two new maps, new factions, new weapons and vehicles for players to experience for the first time in the game.

Fans will no doubt be desperate to jump into the new Pacific Storm and Iwo Jima maps where the newly added US and Japanese troops will wage war.

There's also four new guns, including the famous M1 Garand, as well as the Type 99 Arisaka, Type 100, and the M1919A6.

Not to mention a Katana and M2 Flamethrower, both prominently featured in the explosive trailer (above).

With EA also confirming this week that the Battlefield 6 release date won't arrive until somewhere between April 2021 and March 2022.

No doubt then we can expect more content to arive in the years ahead.
