Not fussed by what was on offer through PlayStation Plus this week? The good news is that Sony and Ubisoft have something else to offer.
Those who want to prepare for the launch of Far Cry 6 can play the current instalment in the franchise for free.
This new trial is available right now and includes the base version of Far Cry 5, which can be found on the PlayStation Store.
It makes for the perfect time to drop into the series again, with Far Cry 6 set to launch on October 7, 2021.
Far Cry 6 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One, but the best gameplay will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
It will boast 4K and 60fps support on next-gen consoles, as well as the added benefit of faster load times.
The game will focus on Antón Castillo, the dictator of the Caribbean island nation of Yara, who is played by famous actor Giancarlo Esposito.
“Castillo has promised to bring the country back to its former glory – but under his control, Yara has become isolated and dependent on forced labor, and anyone who opposes his policies is swiftly disappeared by government forces,” the official Far Cry 6 game description reads.
“Where other Far Cry villains are the types to get their hands dirty, Castillo seems aloof and unreachable, a man hiding behind institutions that he’s bent to his own twisted ends – but as Dani Rojas, a reluctant revolutionary who embraces the “resolver” guerrilla spirit, it’ll be your job to dismantle his empire and restore freedom to Yara when Far Cry 6 launches this fall.”
For anyone preparing to buy Far Cry 6, this latest free trial from Ubisoft will be the idle time to experience the style of gameplay that has made the series so popular.

The Far Cry 5 free trial weekend is now available and is scheduled to end on Sunday, August 8.
The demo is expected to end at around 8am BST, but gamers should keep an eye out for the latest news from Ubisoft.
It should also be noted that the PS5 isn’t the only platform that this week’s free trial is available on.
Far Cry 5 can be downloaded and played for no extra charge over the same dates on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Google Stadia.
