Forza Horizon 5 Leak Reveals Upcoming Hot Wheels Expansion

A Steam leak has seemingly confirmed Forza Horizon 5's first expansion will offer fans a return to the Hot Wheels universe. The add-on will most likely be revealed during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on June 12.

A Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels banner appeared briefly in the premium add-ons bundle section on Steam. The leak was quickly removed from Valve's digital storefront but screenshots featuring the first promo image of the upcoming expansion were shared online.

As you can see in the picture below, Forza Horizon 5's first add-on will offer twisted racing tracks and exotic replicas of Hot Wheels cars. The listing suggests Hot Wheels is "Expansion 1" for the Mexico-themed arcade racing game. Traditionally, Playground releases two major expansions: one dedicated to some fictional thing like Lego, and another one that's more grounded and which usually expands the existing world with new regions like Fortune Island.

It won't be the first time Forza Horizon is collaborating with Hot Wheels. Back in 2017, Forza Horizon 3 received a similar add-on, featuring plenty of new racetracks and vehicles. Moreover, both Forza Horizon 4 and Horizon 5 already feature several fictional cars by Hot Wheels available to players in all activities.

Just recently we learned that Forza Horizon 5 continues to outperform its predecessor in the same time period. With over 20 million players registered in seven months, the studio's latest might just be one of the most popular racing games ever. While the base game is available on Game Pass from day one, its expansions won't be included in the subscription, meaning fans should purchase them separately.

While there are currently no details regarding Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels expansion, we almost certainly will be seeing the add-on during Microsoft's Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12 — or its extended version on June 14.
