A new camera hack for PlayStation 4 horror demo P.T. reveals that the nightmare haunting you was closer than you realised.
Sometimes ignorance really is bliss and when it comes to the P.T. demo that’s definitely true. Thanks to a new camera hack fans have discovered that the ghostly Lisa is always right behind you, and we mean at all times.
Despite only being a demo P.T. (short for playable teaser) is widely hailed as one of the scariest video game experiences of all time, but after Hideo Kojima was forced out of Konami all work on the full game, which would’ve been called Silent Hills, was stopped.
As a result, P.T. was pulled from the PlayStation Store, so only fans who already had the demo downloaded can still play it. And those lucky few are always looking to discover more of its secrets.
Lance McDonald, who is known from YouTube for his hacking of FromSoftware’s games, has been one of the fans lurking in the shadows of P.T. and learning how to gain control of the camera. As from a few days ago he has succeeded and discovered a secret nobody else had any idea about.
‘In P.T., it’s common to hear noises as if Lisa is right behind you, or see weird shadows moving around in front of you, but when you turn around, there’s nothing there. I hacked the game to allow the player to see behind them without actually turning around and…’, said Lance in a tweet.
Lance claims to have found a number of other previously undiscovered features, but he is saving those for a future video to show them all off at once.
So just remember when you’re next playing a horror games in the pitch black of night: just because you look around and no one is there, doesn’t mean that is the case. They might just be attached to the back of your skull instead.
