First 4 Figures Bust Of Artorias The Abysswalker Is A Dark Souls Fan’s Dream

First 4 Figures continues to slay the statue game with its life-size bust of Artorias the Abysswalker from Dark Souls. The impressive build has entered its last leg of pre-orders, with collectors and fans of the video game series forking out $674.99 to have the unwavering knight guard their collection.

The exclusive Artorias the Abysswalker bust was first announced back in May by the toy and model company, that featured the life-size bust as well as a smaller grand scale bust. Fans who purchased the Exclusive Edition during Validation Day received the Signature Edition, which included an additional signature card by First 4 Figures director Alex Davis, a hologram sticker, and extra reward points.

The life-size bust showcases detailed engravings on Artorias’ armor, realistic hair plume, and fabric folds, with detailed layers of weathering paint effects. The bust has a built-in, manual turntable to display all its glory, which features beautiful carvings on the base. The statue also features the Soul of Artorias built into the back of the bust, which has an animated LED function and can be displayed easily thanks to the rotating base. The piece rotates with ease, but do not be fooled, the entire bust weighs in at 18.6 kg; a weight fit for Artorias fans.

Designed by artist Chris Silva, the resin statue kicked off a new range of Dark Souls busts, and First 4 Figures are working on other SD statues. The design has been completely reworked from the grand scale bust to produce the life-size variant, in order to pack as much detail into the textures as possible. An hour-long documentary was presented by First 4 Figures that provides an in-depth look at both busts, side by side, and gives fans a lot of insight into the creative process behind both pieces.

Artorias the Abysswalker was one of the four Knights of Gwyn who led Lord Gwyn’s army. The knight received his title after obtaining the ability of abysswalking, which allowed him to cross into The Abyss; home to the Darkwraiths of Kaathe. Sir Artorias possessed the Wolf Ring – given to him by Lord Gwyn – to pair with his power to wield a greatsword.

The Dark Souls – Artorias the Abysswalker Life-Size Bust Exclusive Edition is available from the First 4 Figures website.
