Exclusive: New Figment 2: Creed Valley Gameplay Trailer Revealed Ahead Of March Launch

Figment 2: Creed Valley is coming in March. Originally set for February when it was announced at the Game Awards last year, developer Bedtime Digital needed a teeny bit more time to get the cerebral sequel ready for the big time. Now that we're a month out, they're ready for a cinematic reveal showcasing Figment 2's enhanced gameplay.

Dusty and Piper return in Figment 2 to help defeat the nightmares that have shattered the Mind's Moral Compass. In order to fix it, they must journey to Creed Valley, the source of all the Mind's ideals. As the Mind's courage, Dusty is uniquely suited to slay nightmares, while Piper provides moral support and the occasional musical accompaniment.

Which is to say that Figment 2 is an even more musically-focused game than the first Figment. Music has always been a big part of this budding indie franchise, but Figment 2 will kick things up a notch with musical boss fights. The trailer below showcases one such boss: a giant bull nightmare that comes in a cloud of sadness and tramples everything in its path.

And unlike the first game, Figment 2 will have a villain. Jester is a mysterious two-faced character that seems to torment Dusty as he journeys to Creed Valley, summoning explosive nightmares and muscular minions that slam checkered pillars into the ground.

Besides boss fight musicals and more music in general, Figment 2 features upgraded storybook-inspired visuals, better animations, cinematics, and a brand-new puzzle mechanic that will change the Mind at the flip of a switch. Open-minded and Closed-minded states will shift the environment, either blocking or opening paths for Dusty. In addition, Figment 2 will feature local co-op, with player two taking control of Piper so she can offer more than just moral support.

Figment 2: Creed Valley arrives on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 9. You can wishlist the game now over on Steam.
