A now-deleted video about Elden Ring supposedly shared new information about the game, including a 2021 release date.
Ever since it was revealed at E3 2019, there has been almost zero news about Elden Ring, the newest title from Dark Souls developer FromSoftware.
With it being absent from every major game event this year, including The Game Awards, fans are desperate for new information, particularly a release date.
Recently, some supposedly leaked details have been shared on Reddit, which claim that Elden Ring’s development stage is complete and that it will release sometime in 2021.
This information originally comes from a video posted on Chinese video sharing site Bilibili by one Longqi Bangbangtang, a content creator who is considered quite reputable among the Souls series fanbase.
The video has since been deleted, but Reddit user Slit08 was able to note down and share the most important details.
Aside from the aforementioned release date, Bangbangtang says that the game will boast a larger map than what Dark Souls had, something director Hidetaka Miyazaki suggested in an interview when he said Elden Ring has a ‘larger world.’
The rumours also mention a dynamic weather and a day/night cycle, which matches up with a previous rumour from back in March.
The video also featured a couple of pieces of supposed enemy concept art. The first depicts some kind of snake creature, while the second is of an armoured giant with red hair, who looks to be the same giant from the announcement trailer.
While these are still only rumours, there have been signs suggesting that Elden Ring is in a playable state.
Only last month, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that he had played ‘quite a bit of the game’ and was impressed by what he saw.
And more recently, journalist Jeff Grubb commented on Elden Ring’s lack of appearance at The Game Awards, saying that it could have feasibly been shown at the event and suggested that we could finally see a new trailer in the coming months.
Elden Ring is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
