October is looking particularly awesome for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Microsoft isn’t wasting any time with its purchase of Bethesda and will be bringing Doom Eternal to its subscription service on October 1, 2020. While it will only be for Xbox One owners, the PC version is slated to land in November just ahead of the launch of the Series X. One of 2020’s biggest and best games for as low as $1 a month? That’s great.
The other titles coming are also relatively decent gets. Forza Motorsport 7 is probably the second biggest game and will be heading to PC, Xbox One, and Android on October 8. The racer has come a long way from its rather lackluster launch back in 2017 and is now worth investing more than 10 hours or so into.
The last major title has to be Double Fine’s 2009 RTS title Brutal Legend. Something of a disappoint for fans that were misled by the more action/platform based demo, the version on Game Pass will be the Xbox 360 original from back in the day. A better version exists on PC, but since this is only being offered to Xbox One users, it seems Microsoft didn’t want to port the game to next-gen.
The last two games coming in early October are Drake Hollow and Ikenfell. For some strange reason, Drake Hollow is only on PC while Ikenfell will be on both. The additions aren’t always consistent with platforms, but Microsoft has been doing its best to make sure PC players aren’t getting a raw deal.
Here is when each game will be added:
- Doom Eternal (Xbox One) – October 1
- Forza Motorsport 7 (PC, Xbox One, Android) – October 8
- Brutal Legend (Xbox One) – October 8
- Drake Hollow (PC) – October 1
- Ikenfell (PC, Xbox One) – October 8
As with other months, a number of titles will be leaving on October 15. There’s actually a decent amount of warning this time, so you’ll still have two weeks to complete/start these games. Here is everything that is departing Game Pass this month.
- Felix the Reaper (PC, Xbox One)
- Metro 2033 Redux (PC, Xbox One)
- Minit (PC, Xbox One)
- Saints Row IV Re-Elected (PC)
- State of Mind (PC)
