Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted has released its seventh set of Seasonal Challenges. These challenges serve as your main source of XP and Bright Dust, allowing you to unlock rewards in your Season Pass and purchase cosmetics from Eververse.

This week contains seven challenges that require you to delve into seasonal and endgame content. Completing a Grandmaster Nightfall, participating in the Comp playlist, and crafting weapons are just a few things you'll need to do. Here is every challenge tied to Season of the Haunted's seventh week of Seasonal Challenge and tips on how to complete each of them.

Sorrow Bound VII

Sorrow Bound VII: Complete Bound in Sorrow VII and defeat Champions within the Derelict Leviathan.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

Bound in Sorrow VII is the final part of this season's questline. Complete all previous weeks, speak to Eris at the H.E.L.M., then complete the final steps. After that's complete, you'll need to defeat 40 Champions on the Derelict Leviathan. Your best bet is to farm Nightmare Containment. During the first two tiers, depositing an Essence of Dread—the orbs that minibosses drop—will spawn an Overload Champion and a small band of Scorn. Deposit as many orbs as you can between both tiers. If you don't care about T3 rewards, we recommend relaunching the activity once you finish T2 Nightmare Containment to speed up this farm.

Nullifying Reconciliation

Nullifying Reconciliation: Complete "Sever – Reconciliation" using only a Void subclass with Void, Kinetic, or Stasis weapons.

Rewards

  • Figments of Darkness
  • 25,000 XP

Reconciliation is the second Sever mission introduced this season. You'll need to beat this mission with a Void subclass using Void, Kinetic, or Stasis weapons. This should be fairly easy to complete, seeing as how Void 3.0 is a powerhouse for all three classes. If you need good Exotics for this mission, Deathbringer and Black Talon are great against the final boss. For adds, you can use Graviton Lance or Osteo Striga.

Binding II

Binding II: Throughout Season of the Haunted, bind Nightmares after completing Tier III of the Nightmare Containment and open Opulent Chests on the Derelict Leviathan.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

Similar to the first Binding challenge from a few weeks ago, this version requires you to bind 30 Nightmares at the end of T3 Nightmare Containment and open 15 Opulent Chests. This is simply a long grind and isn't difficult in the slightest. Boot up a Nightmare Containment run, complete the T3 version, bind the Nightmare, then relaunch the activity from orbit. If you're lucky, you'll join a few matches that are already at T2 or T3.

For the chests, it's down to RNG. Just be sure you open as many hidden chests as possible after the end of a T3 run. You can use an Expert Tracker mod on your Ghost Shell to make these chests easier to find.

Shape Of Nightmares II

Shape of Nightmares II: Shape any Haunted weapon.

Reward

  • 25,000 XP

All Haunted weapons this season can be crafted at the Enclave. You'll need to obtain five Deepsight or "red box" variants before it can be crafted. With certain Crown of Sorrow upgrades, you'll always get a Deepsight variant after your first Sever clear each week. Complete Sever, focus an Umbral Engram, and repeat until you have enough red box variants.

Remember: only Haunted weapons count; Opulent weapons that were reprised this season do not count. In other words, you need to make one of the following weapons:

  • Firefright
  • Hollow Denial
  • Bump in the Night
  • Nezarec's Whisper
  • Without Remorse
  • Tears of Contrition

Beam Cannon

Beam Cannon: Defeat targets with Trace Rifles and Shotguns in Gambit. Bonus progress for defeated Guardians.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

Despite the name, you'll need to get Shotgun and Trace Rifle kills for this challenge. While playing Gambit, you must defeat 60 enemies with Shotguns and 100 with Trace Rifles. Both PvE enemies and Guardians count, the latter granting more progress.

As for getting the kills themselves, consider using the following weapons:

  • Lord of Wolves (Shotgun): Deals great damage to majors and HVTs. It's also quite ammo efficient for a Shotgun.
  • Heritage (Shotgun): Arguably the best Legendary Shotgun in the game. Any roll will work.
  • Ager's Scepter (Trace Rifle): One kill will freeze everyone nearby, allowing you to shatter them for massive damage. This is the best add-clearing Trace Rifle you can use.
  • Prometheus Lens (Trace Rifle): A solid alternative to Ager's Scepter.
  • Retraced Path (Trace Rifle): A non-Exotic Trace Rifle that can roll with Subsistence and Golden Tricorn.

Fleeting Glory

Fleeting Glory: Complete Crucible matches in the Glory Rank playlist. Earn bonus progress for wins.

Rewards

  • 100,000 XP
  • 300 Bright Dust

Survival is the Glory Rank playlist this Seasonal Challenge is referring to. Unlike other PvP modes, Survival uses Skill-Based Matchmaking (otherwise known as SBMM) and uses a ranking system that tracks wins and losses. For those who haven't played Survival before, this is a 3v3 mode where your team has a set number of lives. When your lives deplete, death becomes permanent. Eliminating the enemy team wins the round. Win four rounds to claim victory.

At worst, you'll need to complete eight games to finish this challenge. If you win all matches, it'll only take five games. Comp is incredibly tough if you aren't a good PvP player, so here are a few tips:

  • Play your life: Assume you have one life, even if you don't. Don't engage in a gunfight unless you have the advantage.
  • Stick with your team: With the current meta, teamshooting is more important than ever. Lane with your team, and try to shoot with them.
  • Use your Super: When you get your Super, use it. A single Super can swing the round in your favor. Don't take your Super to orbit.

Grandmaster

Grandmaster: Complete any Nightfall strike on Grandmaster.

Rewards

  • 100,000 XP
  • 300 Bright Dust

Grandmaster Nightfalls are now available for the rest of the season, requiring you to be 1,585 Power or higher to enter. GM Nightfalls contain dozens of Champions, usually all shield types with Match Game active, and you'll have to fight enemies that are 25 Power above you. Staying alive is key, and so is synergizing your kit with your team. Spec for 100 Resilience, use as many DR mods on your chest as possible, and try to build around one of three things: add-clear, Champion/boss DPS, or utility.

  • Hunters work best as Nightstalkers, providing invisibility to their team. Use Aeon Swift to give your team Heavy ammo on Champion finishers, or use Omnioculus to give your team some much-needed DR.
  • Warlocks can use Dawnblade to play as supports, healing allies while granting Radiant. Alternatively, Shadebinder is arguably the best crowd control spec in the game. Use Osmiomancy Gloves and spam Coldsnaps to your heart's content.
  • Titans can use Sentinel to provide overshields and defensive buffs through their Supers. Sunbreaker is also great when paired with Loreley Splendor, making you extremely tanky.
