Demon’s Souls Remake Japanese Voice Cast Revealed

Among the improvements being made in the Demon’s Souls remake is brand new audio including a re-recorded soundtrack and new voice lines. Those voice lines will be entirely new for the Japanese version of Demon’s Souls as the original game only had English voicework.

As you’d expect from one of the very few PS5 launch titles, Sony spared no expense in hiring their Demon’s Souls voice actors. Most of them are industry veterans that have played important roles in some of the biggest games and animes around like Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist. The full list of voice actors was posted to the Japanese PlayStation Blog last weekend, and we’ve got translations helpfully provided by Gematsu.

Voice actors include Saori Hayami as Maiden in Black, Ryoko Shiraishi as The Monumental, Katsuhisa Houki as Old King Allant, Fumiko Orikasa as Maiden Astraea, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ostrava of Boletaria, and Ken Narita as Crestfallen Warrior.

Sony recently held a 12-minute State of Play devoted entirely to Demon’s Souls. We didn’t find much of anything new in the trailer, but we did get to listen to SIE Worldwide Studios creative director Gavin Moore explain how the remake uses the original PS3 game’s code to make the combat feel as true to the original as possible. There are also two graphics modes depending on whether or not you want 4K resolution or 6o fps, and there’s an updated character creation screen with billions of facial permutations.

Demon’s Souls arrives on Thursday, November 12th, only on the PS5.
