The official trailer for Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Warzone confirms all the previous rumours but adds some new ones on top.
Thanks to all the rumours, on the face of it there doesn’t seem to much new information in the Warzone Season 5 trailer, just further confirmation that things like the train and open stadium are real.
But if you look carefully at the helicopter that’s flying over the roof of the stadium you can see that it seems to have five operators riding on it, instead of the usual maximum of four.
Developer Infinity Ward has hinted before that they want to implement a 200-player mode with five-man teams (presumably to be called quints) and some fans think this a hint that it’s finally happening.
Although Infinity Ward seem keen to get a quints option working there’s no guarantee that, even if this is a purposeful tease, it’ll be available right from the start of Season 5, which begins on Wednesday, 5 August.
There’s also no guarantee it’ll stay around for long, as Warzone is infamous for removing and then adding back in options. And while solos, duos, trios, and quads options are all part of the game they’re not always available all at the same time.
Another new option coming to Season 5 is weapon inspections, which at first were just teased but have now been confirmed by Infinity Ward’s Joel ‘ArtPeasant’ Emslie on Reddit.
Weapon inspections were a part of Call Of Duty: WW2 and Modern Warfare Remastered and have been rumoured before, but these have usually been dismissed as fakes.
These leaks may well not be real but Emsile’s comments, and those of other Infinity Ward developers hinting at the feature, seem to confirm that it’s definitely happening.
