Developers Infinity Ward has confirmed that new COD Warzone content is coming to the game this week as part of a bigger Call of Duty Modern Warfare update. Scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, this new COD download is expected to go live in the evening for UK gamers, and provide new MW maps to explore. We would expect this new Call of Duty Modern Warfare update to go live at around 6pm, GMT in the UK.
A new announcement from Activision suggests that it instead, it will be rolling out at 11pm, PT.
While this could be the new schedule, we suspect there might be a typo in there and that the actual release time has been set for 11am, PT.
This would lineup with the usual schedule, and we will make sure to keep track of any new announcements shared by Activision before these stated launch times.
The original message from Activision reads: “Modern Warfare welcomes in a host of new content this week including a new map Khandor Hideout where Multiplayer fans can test out new strategies and tactics, Talon and his trusty dog Indiana join the fight with the Coalition in an all new bundle, four new weapons will be available to find and equip in Warzone, and an exclusive Behind the Scenes look at the making of Warzone. New content included in tomorrow’s update will be live at 11PM PT.”
As mentioned above, Modern Warfare owners will get access to the new Khandor Hideout map, which supports 6v6 play and has long sight lines and interior spaces.
“The large centrally located warehouse is a hub of activity and haven for CQB players,” the message from Activision adds.

“Hunt down your enemies and be wary of marksmen firing down lanes in Khandor Hideout. This new map is available tomorrow, so ready up to jump in and play.”
New cosmetic items will also be released this week for MW gamers, including the new Coalition operator, Talon.
Talon has his own unique finisher, a dog named Indiana and is part of a bundle that also includes two Legendary weapon blueprints and two tier skips.
COD WARZONE UPDATE
Meanwhile, Call of Duty Warzone gamers are getting access to four new weapons as part of the March 24 update.
This includes the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14, which will be available to find across the Verdansk map.
Activision has confirmed that these new weapons will be found in both Common and Uncommon rarities, meaning they should pop in plenty of crates.
Each weapon comes with distinct strengths in its class and they look to be the biggest changes coming to the Battle Royale mode this week.
Activision has confirmed that they will be sticking with the Warzone Solo playlist this week, meaning quads are unlikely to pop up.
While this sounds like a big content patch for Call of Duty, there’s pretty going to be plenty of bugfixes too.
Here are a few examples of bugs that we know are being fixed in a future COD update:
- Players will rarely see full screen black corruption when naturally progressing through the map.
- Players who are the last to die and attempt to leave the game, they’ll see a ‘your squad can still revive you’ message even though there are no squad mates alive.
- Players who disconnect from a match will not drop any items that they were carrying.
Expect more news from Infinity Ward on March 24, with Call of Duty Modern Warfare patch notes being shared after launch.
