When Call of Duty Modern Warfare was released on October 26, it launched without one of the series most enjoyable multiplayer game modes: Hardpoint.
However, it looks as though Infinity Ward are ready to correct that decision with a new update hitting the game this Friday, November 8th.
A new image posted by the developer confirmed that the mode will be released alongside some new – and completely free – multiplayer maps for the game.
One map is known as Shoot House, which will be added to regular playlists.
The other map, titled Krovnik Farmland, will only be available in Ground War mode.
Charlie Intel has suggested that the new Shoot House map will actually be a Gunfight map, at least based on the leaked PC files.
This looks to be the first of many promised free updates from the Infinity Ward team.
Fans might recall that earlier this year that Infinity Ward's co-studio head and creative director Patrick Kelly made quite a significant announcement about updates to the game.
Kelly said that Modern Warfare would be "eliminating the traditional season pass, so that we can deliver more free maps and content as well as post-launch events to all players."

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update 1.07: Another confirmed patch from Infinity Ward?
As touched on previously by Daily Star, Infinity Ward is already preparing to roll out a new 1.07 update to the game in the coming days, with changes expected to impact (and fix) a whole suite of issues with the game.
As per Infinity Ward’s senior communications manager Ashton Williams, the new update should be released in the coming days. A full message from the Infinity Ward team member reads:
"Pending any unexpected issues, we’ve got an update rolling out over the next few days that improves stability across all platforms, fixes bugs, weapon tuning, footsteps, claymores, and more.”
Williams also confirmed that “If testing goes well" the 725 shotgun should be nerfed, since it's currently broken beyond belief.
Likewise, there should be a number of bug fixes for the games spec ops mode.
Stay tuned for more Call of Duty Modern Warfare news as it breaks.
