Not only is the PS5 reveal event on Thursday but so is the start of Season 4 of Call Of Duty… and perhaps the reveal of Call Of Duty 2020.
After being postponed so as to not distract from the anti-racism protests, Season 4 of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is set to begin on Thursday, 11 June at 7am BST.
That’s 11pm tonight for the West Coast of America, so you might see some sources saying Season 4 starts today, but from a UK perspective it’s tomorrow morning.
As you can see, there’s not much to the announcement, but it’s assumed that the new season will now carry on as originally intended – including a reveal of this year’s new Call Of Duty game.
It now seems almost certain that this year’s game will be a Black Ops title set during the Cold War, although whether it’s a remake, reboot, or sequel remains unclear.
Not only have there been multiple leaks pointing to a Cold War setting but dataminers have found era appropriate references in Warzone, including a U-2 spy plane.
Fresh leaks today also suggest that the new game will include a Zombies mode and, perhaps, a new version of Warzone with zombies in it.
Whether the fact the PlayStation 5 reveal event is also on Thursday, at 9pm, is a coincidence or not is unclear. The two events were always scheduled for the same week, so it’s possible that Call Of Duty could turn up at Sony’s event as well.
