- Quick Handling FSS Hurricane Build
- Stable FSS Hurricane Build
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has over 50 weapons for players to earn, one of which is the FSS Hurricane—an SMG variant of the M4. This weapon features high handling, solid mobility, and retains the solid recoil of the standard M4. Any aggressive player will feel right at home with this gun.
Today, we'll be looking at two builds to maximize the effectiveness of the Hurricane. One build will focus on the gun's high handling without ruining its recoil control, and we'll provide a build that's incredibly stable and tailored for slower playstyles. Most attachments used in this guide can be obtained by leveling the M4 platform, so these builds should be easy to replicate.
As of writing this guide, the weapon tuning system is disabled. We'll be recommending attachments without any adjustments. Once weapon tuning is re-enabled, focus on ADS speed and recoil stabilization when possible.

This build focuses on handling without compromising accuracy. The Demo Quicksilver Stock, Phantom Grip, and FSS OLE-V Laser all enhance your weapon's handling in some fashion. Your sprint to fire is much shorter, your ADS speed is incredibly fast, and you'll strafe quickly. To ensure your weapon can hit the broadside of a barn, we use XTEN Razor Comp and FTAC Ripper S6 to drastically improve the weapon's accuracy, removing the penalties from the other three attachments. If you don't like the Hurricane's iron sights, use a canted laser sight instead.
We recommend using this loadout for fast-paced 6v6 modes. The enhanced mobility and short ADS time make the FSS Hurricane a fantastic weapon for aggressive players. Jump shots and sliding into an enemy are quite effective with this gun, and the short sprint to fire delay allows you to panic fire mid-tactical sprint. The recoil isn't as solid as an M4 or our next build, but anyone using this weapon is going to get up close and personal. Using this weapon to pick off targets at long distances is a bad idea; use a sniper rifle instead.

Accuracy and recoil control are the core stats of this loadout. The FSS Hurricane struggles to land consistent hits at medium range, something that isn't an issue with this attachment configuration. The Demo Fade Pro Stock and FTAC Ripper grip do most of the heavy lifting. To ensure the gun doesn't handle slowly, we use a Phantom Grip and a low zoom scope. This keeps the handling at a reasonable speed. Complete the build with your muzzle or laser of choice (we use the XTEN Razor muzzle) for a stable SMG.
This build works in all 6v6 modes and close-range encounters in Ground War. The stability of this weapon will keep your shots on target for quite a distance, just shy of what an M4 can achieve. Play aggressively, mount whenever you're fighting targets from long range, and try to pre-aim when clearing corners. It's effectively an M4 with a 50-round magazine.
