Bethesda Softworks will soon lower the costs of repairing gear and the difficulty of some enemies through upcoming updates for The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the company announced in its first monthly Town Hall post for the mobile adaptation of its fantasy role-playing series. Going forward, a major update sometime around or after E3 2019, with more on that to be discussed in Bethesda’s presentation during the expo.
Blades is a free-to-play title where players have to wait up (in some cases for six hours) to open treasure chests they’ve found, which contain loot necessary to advancement. Players can currently bypass that wait by spending real money (“Gems”). Bethesda developers noted that timers to open silver chests have been shortened to one hour from three, and increased the payout of gems, both of which came from player feedback.
In today’s note to players, Bethesda signaled that it’s heard “loud and clear” from players about balance and other pain points. The Abyss — the never-ending dungeon crawl that is one of the game’s two modes of play — will also get some balance adjustments at the higher levels of play.

“Many of you have mentioned that the balancing in the Abyss at higher levels isn’t quite right,” Bethesda wrote, “and we’re actively adjusting that balance to be a way more fun (and fair) experience.”
The issues with enemy difficulty involve their attack speed, and it’s something Bethesda said it’s working on fixing. Jobs will also have their difficulty ratings corrected, as many players were surprised at their actual difficulty relative to their indicated rating.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades will soon bring in a much larger update “with more fan-requested changes and updates,” and Bethesda said it will have more to share during the company’s E3 keynote on June 9.
