Batman Arkham Legacy is not a big secret, at this stage, everyone seems to know that Warner Brothers Montreal are working on some sort of game revolving around the dark knight.
After teasing fans for months, the developer finally revealed something last month during the DC's Batman Day celebrations.
But the big reveal amounted to nothing more than a series of symbols projected onto a building before the studio went dark once again.
Despite this, there's plenty of evidence from team members at WB Games Montreal that they're not only working on a new game for Bruce Wayne but also something involving the villainous Court of Owls.
For one thing, Geoff Ellenor, a game director at WB Games Montréal, has been relentlessly teasing the Court of Owls related for going on well over a year.
Then there's that tweet (below) from Patrick Redding, Creative Director at Warner Bros Games Montreal.
Need more evidence? How about American writer Scott Snyder – who wrote Batman and Detective Comics during the New 52 era – outright tweeting “Wait for it… #bewarethecourtofowls.” when posting those Batman Day symbols.
Snyder, who played a part in creating The Court of Owls and their trained assassins, The Talons, in the New 52 series, deleted that tweet by the by.
So it's pretty clear a new Batman game is in the works. Although I doubt many could tell you how far along this game is.
But at this stage, it feels like its more a case of when and not if, the Warner Brothers developer unveils this new adventure for the caped crusader.
Many believed that we could have seen something this week during Microsoft's XO19 event, but once more, an announcement was unfortunately missing.
Now, this brings good and bad news.
Because at this stage, it feels like the only possible time we will see or hear anything related to the game is at The Games Awards, which takes place next month on December 12.
So we're, potentially, less than a month away from the big reveal. Who knows, maybe some information will start to leak in the lead up to the big industry event.
Given how the Game Awards has been used to unveil some pretty big releases in past years, it would make sense that Batman's next gaming outing would be unveiled at Geoff Keighley's big awards ceremony.
If not then, then when? As surely Warner Brothers wouldn't drop such blatant teasers only to reveal at E3 next year.
It's also important to remember that it was only last year that Warner Brothers used the Game Awards to unveil the brand new Mortal Kombat 11 release.
Could we see another big reveal from Warners ahead of another early release in early 2020? We wouldn't rule it out.
Although, with a game as popular as Batman we would think Warners might be brave enough to hold the game back until towards the end of 2020.
For those curious, we've seen WB Games Montreal reference The Court as an easter egg in Batman: Arkham Origins, but we can't wait to see what they'd do with a full-blown game.
