Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: A Guide To All Of The Spears

A major part of the gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the combat, and one of the weapons many players choose to wield is the spear. It is a two-handed weapon, but it is capable of performing quick jabs at an opponent. The spear is the fastest in this class and it is a good in-between for those who want a more balanced weapon.

There are a total of six different spears in the game, and not all are created equal. They each come with perks and varying stats that make some better than others. It is important to keep in mind that the stats will differ based on your skill tree and what you have chosen to unlock, but these can always be adjusted if you decide the spear is your weapon of choice!

Fafnir’s Fang

One of the first Lost Drengrs you will come across is a man named Erik Loyalskull in Rygajfylke, Norway. He is located in a cave at Hildesvini’s Crag, which is at the top of the waterfalls near where a woman wants you to find her comb.

Fafnir’s Fang might seem like a great weapon to have early on in the game, but this is a hard fight to win at a low level. However, it’s not impossible and those truly determined will be able to best him even at a low level.

Fafnir’s Fang is fairly balanced and its perk makes it perfect for the beginning of the game. It will increase your critical chance when surrounded by three or more enemies, and you will need all the help you can get at this low level.

Stats

  • Attack: 47
  • Stun: 39
  • Speed: 52
  • Crit-Pre: 78
  • Weight: 15

Fyrd Spear

The Fyrd Spear can be found in the southwest corner of Ledecestrescire, and it is very close to Ravensthorpe. It can be found at a place called Offchurch, but it won’t be unlocked until the questline where you are tasked with finding King Burgred’s hideout. You will just have to head down into the crypt and find your way to the furthest room in order to acquire this weapon.

It is a bit better than Fafnir’s Fang, although most choose to use this weapon because of its perk as it is one of the best things about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It will increase your speed when dodging an attack, which is always useful when using a two-handed weapon.

Stats

  • Attack: 49
  • Stun: 64
  • Speed: 55
  • Crit-Pre: 76
  • Weight: 12

Cadfarch Spear

Sciropescire is where the Cadfarch Spear can be found and it is given to Eivor following the completion of the main quest called Bloody Path to Peace. This is a bit further into the main story so you will have to wait to acquire this beauty, but Valhalla does make up for this fact by starting this spear at a superior level.

The perk is very useful as it increases the back damage you deal when dodging. The Cadfarch Spear is the perfect weapon to equip if you want to make an overpowered character.

Stats

  • Attack: 54
  • Stun: 69
  • Speed: 56
  • Crit-Pre: 78
  • Weight: 12

Gungnir (Odin’s Spear)

The Gungnir, also known as Odin’s Spear, is located in Hordafylke, Norway and it is a Mythical Spear. It is not available for use until you complete the entire main storyline and then you must take a side quest called A Brother’s Keeper. Once you have completed this, and A Quiet Homecoming, then you can fetch the spear from a cave near a location called Goinnhellir.

This spear is magical in every sense of the word as its perk enables it to extend its reach by using a force field. The spear always seems surrounded by a golden hue, which is what this perk puts to use. It is one of the final pieces to Thor’s Armor, which you can learn how to find by reading this guide.

Stats

  • Attack: 92
  • Stun: 101
  • Speed: 48
  • Crit-Pre: 94
  • Weight: 15

Svipul

This spear cannot be found in the game and is one of the many microtransactions that players can make. It can be acquired by buying the Valkyrie Pack which will cost you 2,000 Helix Credits. This is equal to about $20 and it is probably worth it if you choose to use a spear as your main weapon. This pack also includes a full armor set, a shield, and a new mount.

The perk associated with this spear is that it will increase back damage when at low health, but its look is why so many people choose to buy it. It looks beautiful as you twirl it around with flames following its path, and it is already at its highest tier which is just another attribute that makes players want to buy it.

Stats

  • Attack: 116
  • Stun: 124
  • Speed: 52
  • Crit-Pre: 101
  • Weight: 11

Anentaks Spear

The Anentaks Spear can be acquired in Vinland, but this is also the only location where it can be used. It will cost you two carbon ingots, 65 leather, and 105 iron ore if you want to buy it from the local trader, which is one of the many things you can do in this region.

Its stats are similar to that of Odin’s Spear so it is a shame you are not able to bring this back to England with you. The Anentaks Spear even has a perk that increases your heavy damage when dodging, so it is even more disappointing that you can’t use it all the time.

Stats

  • Attack: 93
  • Stun: 110
  • Speed: 52
  • Crit-Pre: 91
  • Weight: 13
