Apex Legends Season 4 Patch Notes Reveal Big Changes

Season 4 of Apex Legends is officially in full swing, introducing a brand new battle pass, a new hero, and a much more. According to the recently released Season 4 patch notes, there are quite a bit of changes, and the game’s competitive landscape will certainly be impacted as a result.

The most obvious new addition to Apex is the brand new legend, Revenant. Looking like a cybernetic reaper of some sorts, Revenant uses supernatural powers to take down his enemies and avoid dying himself. The legend’s passive ability, Stalker, allows him to crouch-walk quickly and climb further up walls, while his tactical ability, Silence, allows him to throw a device that can disable enemy abilities for 10 seconds.

Revenant’s ultimate attack is a fairly interesting one and is guaranteed to have an effect on how teammates coordinate with one another. The legend can drop a Death Totem for 10 seconds, essentially protecting his teammates from death. When Revenant or one of his teammates is killed, instead of dying like usual, they return to the totem with 1 health.

The Season 4 update comes with quite a bit more than just a new legend. A brand new weapon, the Sentinel Sniper Rifle, has also been added to the game. This sniper can consume shield batteries, which will energize the weapon, allowing it to launch projectiles that can do a high amount of damage to enemy shields. On the downside, the Sentinel Sniper will let off a loud noise while energized, which will surely alert nearby enemies.

There have been quite a few changes to the map as well. Capitol City has been split in two, creating The Updrafts located in between the two sections, which will keep players floating in the air. The multi-leveled Planet Harvester has also been added, along with another new location, the Survey Camp, which will have weapons racks guaranteed to be holding weapons.

Other additions include a Master Tier, called Apex Predator, which will be awarded to the top 500 players on each platform. A handful of changes have been made to various weapons, hundreds of cosmetic items have been added, a few legends have been slightly altered, and several bugs were fixed. Overall, players seemed to be excited to finally begin Season 4 of Apex Legends, and Respawn Entertainment’s continual updates are a huge reason why Apex continues to compete with other battle royale shooters, such as Fortnite and PUBG.
