The next Nintendo Direct will be focused purely on Animal Crossing: New Horizons and it’s due to take place on Thursday.
A new Nintendo Direct has been announced for Thursday, 20 February at 2pm and it will be dedicated to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The Direct will be 25 minutes long, which should ensure a pretty comprehensive rundown of the game and perhaps an explanation of what its in-game purchases are about.
New Horizons was supposed to be out last Christmas but was delayed until 20 March. Despite that, very little has been seen of it until now, so it’s probably still hiding quite a few surprises.
This will be the third Nintendo Direct of the year so far but all of them have been dedicated to specific games (Pokémon, Smash Bros., and now Animal Crossing) and we still haven’t one about the Switch general.
That means there’s still no clue as to what other Switch games will be coming out this year after New Horizons, with the only other Nintendo title scheduled at the moment being remake Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX on 6 March.
Not only is it unclear what Nintendo has planned for the rest of the year it’s also a mystery as to why they’re keeping it a secret, as they’ve already said they don’t plan to release any new hardware this year.
If tomorrow’s Direct is focused on New Horizons it’s unlikely they’ll mention any other games unless they’re directly related to Animal Crossing. But then with Nintendo you can never quite be sure…
