Each month, Amazon Prime members get a handful of free games thanks to Twitch Prime. To celebrate the holidays, Twitch Prime decided to double the number of free games from five to ten. While initially announced as a limited-time offering until December 31, the five bonus games are actually available through January. From now until February 1, Prime members can add five Devolver Digital games to their PC game library, entirely free of charge. Of the five Devolver freebies, four of them were released in 2019. The normal batch of Twitch Prime free games will be available until February 3.
First up is Ape Out, a wonderful top-down action game that cleverly uses a jazz soundtrack to make its good ape on bad human violence even more entertaining. Ape Out was my absolute favorite game of 2019.
If you’re a fan of Metroidvanias, Gato Roboto is right up your alley. This short and sweet side-scroller stars a small kitty cat who explores a monochromatic alien world.
Heave Ho, the newest of the batch, is a hilarious co-op game for up to four players that asks you to hold hands and grapple across perilous gaps. You’ll also get Witcheye, a retro platformer with gorgeous visuals that happens to be one of my favorite mobile games of 2019.
The fifth Devolver Digital freebie is Enter the Gungeon, a stellar 2016 rogue-like that you should definitely play if you haven’t already.
In addition to the five Devolver games, Twitch Prime members can pick up Dandara, Anarcute, Kingdom: New Lands, A Normal Lost Phone, and Splasher.
You get more than just free games with Twitch Prime. The bonus freebies also include new loot for Red Dead Online, Borderlands 3, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Apex Legends.
To pick up all 10 of January’s free games, all you have to do is link your Twitch account to your Amazon Prime account. Amazon Prime memberships cost $119 per year, but you sign up for a free 30-day trial.
