AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative: How To Solve The Number Code Puzzle in Tokiko’s Office

There's a noticeably difficult puzzle during chapter two of AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative. After you stumble across the body of Tokiko in the office of Naix’s headquarters, you’ll need to investigate with Tama to determine how they were killed and how the killer made an escape before your arrival.

During this process, you’ll collect evidence from the scene, then reconstruct how the killer escaped, and you’ll be tasked with solving a few puzzles. One of these puzzles involves finding a correct seven-digit code to open up a secret passage in the office. To do this, you’ll need to collect information from a few sources around the room and think outside the box to arrive at the correct numbers.

How To Find The Passcode For Tokiko’s Office In Chapter Two

During the virtual reality investigation, you’ll come across the entrance the secret passage in Tokiko’s office. Using your thermal vision and X-ray vision, you’ll uncover a numerical keypad for opening this entrance behind one of the room’s many statues, as well as a set of numbers that can be seen by using the X-ray mode on the front of Tokiko's desk.

When you find the numbers, you may notice that the numbers are aligned and organized into a diamond shape in a strange way. The way in which these numbers are ordered is essential for figuring out the seven-digit code needed for the numerical keypad.

After all the evidence in the room has been collected, Tama will ask Ryuki to help recreate the killer’s escape. During this sequence, they’ll hastily demand that you input the code for the numerical keypad, assuming that you already have figured out the sequence.

To solve this puzzle, you’ll need to consider how the numbers found in the front of the desk can be combined in a way that fits a consistent pattern that produces seven numbers.

Although there isn’t much to indicate that you need to multiply the numbers as opposed to adding them together or some other method, multiplication is indeed the method you should use here.

Look at the diamond of numbers you found earlier, starting with the numbers on the left and working your way right in ‘columns’. There are seven columns in total. You can then multiply all the numbers in each column from top to bottom, including the zeroes, meaning all the columns that contain a zero will create zero. This will give you seven unique numbers.

If you’ve done it correctly, you’ll arrive at the final answer of 4901095.

Put this into the keypad after Tama asks you to, and you’ll complete this puzzle, allowing you entrance into Tokiko’s secret lair and advancing your investigation of the half-body serial killings.
