Overwatch League team Washington Justice has entered into a partnership agreement with Shenandoah University which will run from the start of 2021 to the end of Summer 2022. Through the arrangement, the Justice will provide internship opportunities to Shenandoah students with focuses on business operations, team operations, sponsorships, or marketing.
The organization will also host events in person and online during the course of the year which will provide work experience opportunities to students as well – primarily in the areas of event production, social media management, and business development.
As the esports industry continues to evolve, the desire and demand for experienced, educated professionals coming out of college is growing – and so is the relationship between esports organizations and universities. Gen.G signed a deal with the University of Kentucky last year. In 2018 fellow OWL team the San Francisco Shock and its parent organization NRG partnered with the University of California, Berkeley.
