OG reached the OMEGA League Immortal division finals and have now secured a top three finish in the tournament with another clean execution over Nigma.
Unfortunately, Nigma are not able to play with their captain, Kuro “KuroKy Takhasomi in this event, and although his absence didn’t shake the team that much so far, when it comes down to a OG match-up, Nigma found themselves once again in the impossibility to match the double TI champions’ thirst for blood.
The opening game of the series featured Morphling for Nigma, who were looking to pressure the lanes with a mid lane Windranger and an offlane Darkseer, but OG amped their aggressive style with a draft full of stuns and burst damage. They focus-targeted Aliwi “w33” Omar’s Windranger from the early laning stage to make sure that he wouldn’t keep Nigma in the game until Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi was ready to join the fights.
While the game turned from bad to absolutely disastrous for w33, as 20 minutes in he was below OG’s Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen on Tiny and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng on Sven were unstoppable and constantly running at Nigma to force a 30 minute GG call.
Game two brought a safe lane Tidehunter played by w33, while Miracle chose to play in the mid lane on Arc Warden. Nigma’s plan was relying on the big cooldown ultimates combo Ravage plus Epicenter and unfortunately for them that came back to haunt them as OG brought yet another aggressive draft with strong tower hitters. Luna along with Beastmaster were the objective taking tools, giving Topson on Void Spirit the freedom to set up the kills and disturb Nigma’s farm and teamfights.
On the back of their victory from today, OG will get a day off in the competition while waiting for their opponent for the upper bracket finals to be decided between Team Secret and Evil Geniuses.
Nigma will continue to fight their way back through lower bracket rounds and will return to the action tomorrow, September 4 with a best-of-three series with elimination on the line against Team Liquid.
