Cloud9 has officially revealed the acquisition of ATK’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. The news broke with a tweet from the organization’s account with a video and written announcement linked.
“With the new year came some new faces” the organization said as they announced the signing of the full lineup from ATK including the team’s coach, Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen.
“Joining Cloud9 is a dream come true for the entire squad. Words can’t describe how excited we all are to represent such a prestigious organization. We’re very grateful for the opportunity,” T.c said in the official post from Cloud9. “I think it came at the perfect timing to provide us with more resources to continue our growth and to strive for new heights. Our team is still very young and I’m very excited to see how far we can go with the support Cloud9 can offer.”
This move had been rumored for weeks with multiple reports being sent out regarding the potential and then official decision to bring on the team to the prestigious esports organization.
The lineup drew attention to itself after defeating North and G2 at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals and showing some good moments against a strong mousesports squad.
The team will debut under the Cloud9 banner at the upcoming IEM Katowice Closed Qualifier starting on January 9th.
