Media company and streaming platform HyperLive Entertainment has signed a strategic partnership with esports organisation Nova Esports.
The partnership will see the two companies establish a new Nova Esports Southeast Asian headquarters in Singapore, as well as create a new esports team in Singapore called Nova SG.

Nova Esports and HyperLive Entertainment also announced plans to create an esports academy in Singapore, though did not disclose details.
Nova Esports is one of the best-known mobile esports organisations in the world. Founded in 2016 in Hong Kong, it fields teams in Call of Duty Mobile, Game for Peace, FIFA, and most notably PUBG: MOBILE where the organisation won the PUBG Mobile Global Championship in 2020 and 2021.
The cooperation aims to create an esports hub in Singapore and create a stepping stone towards increasing Nova’s presence in the region, according to a release. It added that there are further plans to expand Nova’s operations to countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
The reason behind picking Singapore as the new regional hub, according to Nova Esports and HyperLive, is the amount of momentum esports has in the region — especially in mobile esports.
With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) being one of the most-popular titles in the region, Nova Esports is keen to ‘explore the opportunity’ of joining the MLBB scene in Southeast Asia, the company said.

Dr. Sean Wong, CEO of HyperLive, commented: “We are truly excited about the synergistic
partnership with Nova Esports. We have identified esports as a key market that has massive potential for growth in the upcoming years, thus with Nova on board, we are extremely confident that we can achieve incredible breakthroughs in esports.”
Esports Insider says: A partnership between a world-renowned mobile esports organisation and a media company is perhaps unusual on paper, but makes sense for entering a new market. Nova has esports expertise galore, and HyperLive can provide the means to reach regional audiences, which makes this a good deal on both sides.
