Generation Esports announced that it partnered with Chess.com to officially offer online chess on its list of tournament titles in the High School Esports League (HSEL). Registration for the league’s 2021 Winter Challenge is now open to high school students nationwide. The 2021 Winter Challenge will kick off in January, with high school esports clubs competing for college scholarships and prizes from sponsors such as ASUS, Zaxby’s restaurant, and gaming brand Skullz.
Chess.com’s browser-based game 10-Minute Chess will be included in the Winter Challenge alongside Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Fortnite, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, NBA 2K21, and Valorant.
