The first exclusively team-owned CS:GO league has launched and is extremely promising.
Officially announced today, Flashpoint is a new CS:GO league that is directly controlled and funded by teams that participate in it themselves. This groundbreaking new league includes reputable organizations working together to create a stable esports environment. A few confirmed organizations participating are MIBR, Cloud9, OverActive Media, Gen.G, Dignitas and c0ntact Gaming. FACEIT will be the operator of the league.
What makes this league remarkable is its potential to establish stability in the CS:GO esports scene and better guarantees for long-term investors. The investors all have equal say on the Board of Directors too, which will further help the stability of the league.
Currently, Flashpoint will have the largest prize pool in all of CS:GO. In fact, over $2,000,000 will be awarded across two seasons annually. In addition, players will receive the highest revenue share in all of esports. The league will promote rising talent through its infrastructure too through and open circuit.
It is also important to note that Flashpoint is keen on bringing in the best names in the scene. Duncan “Thorin” Shields, Christopher ‘MonteCristo’ Mykles and Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat will all be involved in the broadcast production. Joining them will be a host of other widely-recognized talents. They include Dan “DDK” Kapadia, James Bardolph, Freya Spiers, Jason “moses” O’Toole, Anders Blume and Season Gares.
Flashpoint is set to take the CS:GO scene by storm. They’re adamant about delivering “a gittier show target at adults” with “differentiated content and storytelling” to make themselves stand apart from others.
The league’s Open Qualifiers start on February 6th. Those interested can sign up on their website.
