Envy Gaming Launches Fan Membership and Rewards Program

Envy Gaming, parent of Team Envy, the Dallas Empire in the Call of Duty League, and the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League, has announced a membership program to recognize and reward its fans. 

Beginning on Nov. 9, fans will be able to sign up for the  “EnvyUS Membership” that fans can use to get exclusive perks including merchandise, team news, partners and sponsors giveaways, and behind-the-scenes access and personal opportunities to meet and interact with Envy’s cadre of professional esports players and content creators. 

The membership club is in early development and will expand in the coming months with feedback from founding members. Fans can earn status, points, and unique rewards through participation and engagement in different membership club activities. Multiple membership tiers and other ways for fans to participate in future programming will be announced at a later date.

Sign-ups for the EnvyUS platform are available on a first-come, first-serve basis during the initial launch. 

Recently, Fan reward and membership programs have been at the center of some esports organizations monetization models as teams including Fnatic, Team Heretics, and Team Liquid have created similar programs predominately through two different models. The first model has seen some teams create “fan tokens” which can be purchased and held in order to receive membership and fan perks. Others, such as Envy Gaming, offer various tier-pricing.

Team Liquid announced its fan engagement platform, Liquid+, in August of 2019. Liquid+ uses a model where fans earn rewards by doing things like connecting to Liquid’s social accounts to earn reward points or buying merchandise, tickets, or other items to gather points to spend on perks when they’ve reached a required number.

Last year, Fnatic partnered with the blockchain-based trading platform WAX to give away digital goods and other items that could be purchased with digital tokens acquired from the site.
