Dota 2: Gambit benches gpk

One of the most promising CIS players is now benched.

It seems like the CIS scene just can’t take a break. For the past few days, it seems like there is always some sort of drama going on. After all the fiasco with Virtus.Pro and Natus Vincere, we now have more intriguing news, this time from Gambit Esports.

One of their star players Danil “gpk” Skutin won’t be playing in the LA Major. According to the official announcement from Gambit, the player was benched and then replaced. Even though there was no obvious reason for that, it turned out that he refused to join the teams’ bootcamp.

This is definitely a huge hit for Gambit because gpk was one of their strongest players. Now, Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi will have the uneasy task to fill in the gap left by Danil. Needless to say, this won’t be easy, especially in the qualifiers for the third Major of this DPC.

The talented CIS player joined Gambit last year and since then, the team definitely improved. However, it seems like there was some sort of internal conflict that led to this drastic decision.

This is how Gambit’s roster looks like after the changes:

  • Kiyalbek “dream’” Tayirov
  • Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi
  • Maxim “Shachlo” Abramovskikh
  • Danial “XSamp1Re” Alibaev
  • Artiom “fng” Barashack

We are yet to see what will happen with this amazing CIS team in the upcoming qualifiers. Despite the changes, they are still one of the best teams in their region.
